Meet the Team

Dr Jay Downie

Vet-Nurse-KylieJay graduated from Murdoch University in 2012 and then spent 2 years in rural practice in the Midwest of WA before returning to Perth. Jay has a particular interest in canine nutrition.

Outside of work Jay can be found running with her Dalmatian, Joop or challenging herself at her local CrossFit gym. Along with the dalmatian, Jay also rescued a ginger cat called Percy who now rules the household.

Teagan

Vet-Dr-JayTeagan started her veterinary nursing career with the Mirrabooka Veterinary Hospital in early January 2010. She started her work experience with us while she was studying for her nursing certificate as well as working with us part time as a kennel attendant.

When she graduated late December of 2010 she became a permanent member of our team and has thoroughly enjoyed working here ever since.

Teagan enjoys live music, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

She has a bouncy three year old pug cross, Harlow and two cats, Vandalai and Andre both of which were adopted from kittens.

Kylie

Vet-Nurse-TeaganKylie is our part time nurse first started her career while working for a large and small animal practice in 2000. In 2004 she completed her studies and became a qualified and registered veterinary nurse. Kylie has been a member of Mirrabooka Veterinary Hospital on and off since 2007.

Outside of work, Kylie enjoys spending time with her husband and children and doing little projects around their property. She also has three handsome cats Legolas, Jett and Taji whom she adores.

Brianna

Vet-Nurse-TeaganBrianna was raised on her family’s farm in the country and has grown up with animals and always wanted to work with them. This led to her completing a Vet Nursing course in 2013. Brianna has worked at a sheep stud ,as a kennel hand and vet nurse in both the country and Perth before joining the Pets and Vets Group. Brianna started working at Pets and Vets earlier this year and she can often be seen at Lathlain Vet Clinic, Mirrabooka Vet Hospital or occasionally at Vic Park Vet Clinic. Brianna has two spoilt sheepdog x kelpies Diesel and Mace, who live on the farm and also 11 pet sheep who were orphaned and have been hand reared.
