Meet The Team

Dr. Julian Jacobsen

Graduated from Murdoch University in 1992 and worked for two years in the UK before travelling through Europe with his wife Dr Nyaree Jacobsen who is also a vet. They returned to Perth and entered into partnership at Victoria Park and Lathlain Vet Clinics in December 1999 with Dr Rick Fenny.

Julian and Nyaree have three children (a girl and two boys) and 2 dogs, Ethal and Bessie.

Julian has a special interest in surgery, and especially enjoys orthopaedic surgery.

Outside of work he enjoys numerous hobbies, including building stuff (boat building, steel frame bicycle building, pizza oven, wooden structures) and competitive cycling. He completed the Melbourne Ironman in 2013 and hopes to keep improving on his PB.

Dr. Megan Stevenson

Megan has been working for the Vic Park and Lathlain clinics since December 2006. At work she has an interest in small animal internal medicine with a particular interest in feline medicine and endocrine conditions. She shares her home with two German Shepherds: Lou (11 years old) and Scout (3 years old). Lou was a serving member of the W.A. police force for 4 years but is now thoroughly enjoying retirement.

Dr. Eric Rozitis

Eric graduated from Murdoch University in 2010. He has interests in both medical and surgical cases but especially enjoys performing surgery and challenging himself daily. Orthopaedic surgeries are a particular interest. Eric travelled to northern India and Nepal at the end of 2013 and volunteered with Vets Beyond Borders to perform countless daily sterilizations procedures on the huge stray dog population there. He is eager to repeat this experience in other places around the world.

Eric has a young dog and a geriatric cat that both enjoy having a vet as an owner.

Outside of work he enjoys staying fit, trying out new sports and has a passion for travelling around the world.

Dr. John Pascall

002After finishing his veterinary training at the University of Sydney, John joined the Victoria Park and Lathlain Vet Clinics at the start of this year.  Originally from Zimbabwe and raised on a healthy diet of meat and David Attenborough, John has always been fascinated by animals and their behaviour and has a special interest in surgery.  To the consternation of his partner Katy, John has just recently brought home an adorable little German Shorthaired Pointer puppy Hector, who is busily munching his way through every shoe in sight.

Melissa Hutchings – Veterinary Nurse

Melissa has been a vet nurse for 10 years and in that time she worked in London for 2 years and Victoria Park Vet Clinic for 5 ½ years. She has a Golden Retriever, Kiedis who is the chief meeter and greeter who you may find occasionally at reception.  Melissa loves to travel, shop and eat out.

Jennifer Bowes – Veterinary Nurse

Jennifer has been working as a vet nurse since 2003 starting her vet nursing career in Melbourne, joining Victoria Park Vet Clinic in 2012. She’s slowly getting used to Perth summers, but does miss her winter skins in the Victorian Alps. She is very excited to have started studying a Bachelor of Nursing (human) this year!

Nicole Ottes – Veterinary Nurse

009Nicole qualified as a veterinary nurse in late 2010 through Applied Vocational Training. After working as a veterinary nurse in the Fremantle area Nicole joined our team at Victoria Park and Lathlain in October 2013 and loves working in our great team. Puppy class is one of Nicole’s favourite roles as a veterinary nurse.

She also adores her two big fluffy Alaskan Malamutes, Annabelle and Dane and Himalayan Persian Bobby which definitely keep her busy at home.

Monique Polini – Veterinary Nurse

007Monique graduated as a vet nurse in December 2013. She did work experience with us while she was studying and ended up officially joining the team as a fully qualified nurse earlier this year. She has a crazy 1 year old Cavoodle Nala, who loves socializing and going to the beach.
