October 30, 2014

My name is Natalie Rouillard, and in association with the Pets and Vets Group, I will be offering small animal veterinary ultrasound services in the Pilbara, from the Karratha Veterinary Hospital, as of February 2015.

I have a special interest and experience in ultrasonography and diagnostic imaging and have passed the membership examinations of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (diagnostic imaging). I am continuing to develop my skills, with the plan to specialise as a radiologist in the future. I am backed up by my mentor, radiologist Dr Nerissa Stander who is based at the WAVES clinic in Perth WA.

The Pets and Vets Group is in the process of purchasing a top quality ultrasound machine with Doppler capabilities. With this, I will be able to offer services such as echocardiology – indicated to diagnose and monitor cardiomyopathies, valve defects and pericardial effusions, as well as congenital heart defects.

I will also be able to offer abdominal scans – indicated to assess liver, spleen, urinary, adrenal, pancreatic, gastrointestinal and reproductive disorders, as well as peritoneal effusions and tumors.

With some further training and experience I hope to be able to offer soft tissue ultrasonography and mediastinal scans in the future.

I will be working out of the Karratha Veterinary Hospital, with the exception of occasional visits to South Hedland, Newman, Tom Price and Exmouth Pets and Vets clinics. My services are offered exclusively through the Pets and Vets Group and as such, bookings can only be made via the Karratha Clinic.
